I'm not sure, but this may just superseed Flot in my 'favourite' charting
apis list ;)

The examples page is great, I kept clicking charts thinking they were
scanned images from books, they weren't, they're JS renderer (e.g
http://vis.stanford.edu/protovis/ex/wheat-alt.html )
I've also thrown-up (fairly litearlly in this case its a proof of concept
currently) a rails plugin at
http://github.com/ciaranj/protovisonrails/tree/master
