Hmm I did a lot of testing with location and I can add as much as an entire second to load times, on an communication app, that big stuff, streaming etc
That said I love heroku, If they offered eu, and had an apache or nginx as a front end I'd go with them Oh and droped prices by about 50 percent For my money now I can host on amazon and have 25 app instances for about the same price of 4 on heroku, plus i can install what I want etc A great platform, some work needed I feel. Ruby hosts are lacking in the europe I would never host in the uk due to the laws by Europe defo Sent from my iPhone On 15 Dec 2009, at 14:54, Ashley Moran <[email protected]> wrote: > > On Dec 15, 2009, at 2:40 pm, Alex Barlow wrote: > >> Shame the only servers they have are thousands of miles away ;) > > Noooo... they float in a big cloud and occasionally pass over the > UK! =) > > We were having this discussion at ShRUG[1] last night.
