Gareth is very accommodating, and he did say that for anything I gave a hat tip to as being "geek" and "crowd that likes beer", he'd do his best to give the room for free, even at short notice. He was trying to get me to talk GeekUp into moving there, but it's too small for the numbers that was attracting back then (dunno what it attracts these days), but would be fine for a moderate/busy NWRUG. Worth dropping him an email tonight, I'd say. Definitely worth it for the future. The only other place I can think of - but it's too short notice, I suspect - is MDDA. John Keys is your man there for "community facilitation" or whatever it's called.
