Firstly a disclaimer - what follows is definitely not looking to take away from NWRUG, I have spoke to one of the organisers to make sure it's ok to post and I hope the below doesn't offend anyone!
A colleague and I are looking to organise a bi-monthly meet for Ruby/Rails enthusiasts on Merseyside. It often feels a bit lonely being a Ruby developer in Liverpool and we thought it was about time we tried to get together interested parties once every other month and create a small network of like minded people in the city. Our proposal is a bi-monthly meet where we can formally get together for a couple of hours under an agenda that allows us to share knowledge, contacts and offer each other opportunities. We'll be doing this under the banner of Rubyside and the inaugural meet will be on Wednesday 15th April 2015, 6pm - 8pm on Hanover St, Liverpool City Centre (L1 3DN). We've set up a small site at www.rubyside.co.uk and there's an RSVP link to EventBrite. It would be great to see some local developers - of any ability - at the first meet and see what we can offer to and learn from each other. Cheers!
