Happy New Year all! We’re kicking 2016 off with a talk from Ciarán Walsh, who’ll be giving us an introduction to the Elixir programming language at MadLab on Thursday 21st.
Elixir is a dynamic functional language built on the Erlang VM. It was created by José Valim, a Rails core member, and has slowly been gaining traction in the Ruby community. There is also an Elixir MVC web-framework called Pheonix, which will look very familiar to anyone who’s worked with Rails or Django. Doors at 6:30pm, talk starts at 7pm sharp so please don’t be late.
