Hi all, For March's NWRUG (Thursday 16th March) we’ll be holding a lightning talks event where all the talks are no longer than 10 minutes. It’s always a fun event and a great opportunity to hear talks on many topics from a variety of speakers.
That’s where you come in! We've already had some proposals but there is room for more, so if you’re up for giving a talk then drop me a line off list – [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>. If you’ve never spoken at a meet up before, this is a great opportunity to break your speaking duck with a short talk in front of a friendly crowd. Your talk doesn’t have to be specifically about Ruby or Rails. As long as it’s a subject that will be of interest or relevant to those interested in Ruby, then we’d love to hear from you. For example, I’ll be giving a short talk on hidden Git tips, tricks and commands to level up your Git workflow. If you’re not up for speaking yourself, you may know a friend or colleague who has something worth sharing, so please do give them a nudge. I’m happy to give feedback and advice on talk topics so drop me a line. There are also a few useful resources on the website if you want some tips on giving a talk: http://nwrug.org/participate#help-with-speaking <http://nwrug.org/participate#help-with-speaking> Over to you!
