Kevin - Thanks, your suggestion worked like a charm...
Further hiccups past intalling the PCI adapter involved having windows not be able to find the Orinoco driver on my CD - this I just downloaded from their site though, and not realizing that I had to relase my existing ethernet connection and figuring out such a change would not take effect until after a restart.
