This is the kind of info I want to see. My wireless LAN isn't going anywhere. Right now I have a shitty 900mhz phone so they won't collide. I'd like to buy a decent range 2.4ghz phone but I don't want to get it home and find out that I get interference from the LAN or vice versa.
Like many of you, I live in Manhattan in a high density area. I'd like a phone that also gets good range. I've been thinking about getting a cheap omni 2.4ghz antenna and mounting it to the phone base station so I can sit on my stoop 5 floors down and talk on the phone. Probably not exactly legal, but it's what I want. -Terry ----- Original Message ----- From: "jonathan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Dustin Goodwin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, August 20, 2002 12:10 PM Subject: Re: [nycwireless] 2.4ghz phone testing event > Just FYI, my Siemens 2.4 gig 2420 multiline system seems to work great > with 802.11 (sometimes I get some clicking on the voice, which might be > interference going the other way?). > > Ripping the base station out, however, is not going to happen, sadly ;) > > jonathan > > On Tue, 20 Aug 2002, Dustin Goodwin wrote: > > > Would anyone be interested in having an event where > > everyone brings in their 2.4ghz cordless phone and we > > test how well behaved they are?
