Dear Ben and anyone who has experience in Windows file sharing on Jaguar,

Although I am Hungarian, and in Hungary illegal software usage is rampant, that is not what I am planning to do. It's a home video I'd like to receive.

In the meantime I figured that with dynamic DNS the transfer is just too complicated. I have Jaguar on my computer, I guess I can simply use file sharing. I know that I have to switch on Windows file sharing, let the other one know my IP number but what happens after that???

The other person on its WIndows desktop will see me as a folder or ~username/Public/Drop Box or he needs some software or what? Does anybody have experiences in doing it?
Please help,

Best
Miklos

Hello Miklos,

You want to receive some very large files and downloading them is
not an option so you want to host them. Sure you do. This is not something
that sounds legit so I recommend you get your own internet service to use
DDNS hosted services.

Subject: [nycwireless] can I use dynamic dns through some's node?

Hi,
I would like to receive some large files and I figured the best way to
do that is to use my self-hosted site. I have a dynamic dns client.
Could I use that at some else's node?
I would really appreciate any replies or suggestions.
Thanks,
Miklos
