You can start by listing yourselves on www.NodeDB.com and find out who
else is about... It has the ability (once I download the elevation
data from USGS) to plot semi-accurate elevation cross sections between
locations...

Depends what type of community network you're trying to build as to
how you go about it, some build out hotspots (as NYCwireless is)
others are trying to build out fixed point wireless networks,
SeattleWireless and most/all groups in Australia...
