Hello All,
I can see it now in the papers... "A year later, NYC geeks life
expectancy drops after McDonalds announced wireless extra value meal." My
Big N' Tasty was not for the "light hearted".

Terry is working on a more detailed account of our evening... but at
our McD's in Times Square this evening (1560 Broadway, 46th/47th), we
experienced similar speeds (to Mike's #'s, below), and the line seemed to be
a 1.5Mb SDSL connection. I'm willing to bet all the McD's wireless locations
have 1.5 SDSL connections. And no blocked ports were found.
Other notes... on the front door of the McD, was the "M wireless"
logo. Quite small. I also had to ask to get the free 1 hour card with my
extra value meal. And the 1 hour is in one block. So, you have to sit there
and use it completely. I'm curious to know the pricing after the promotion
ends on June 30, 2003 (or earlier). That's the expiration for the cards.
I'll probably start eating more McD's now... sigh... maybe, it's time to
double up on that heath insurance,
-Ben
