Try the Home Depot for your "mast". a piece of PVC pipe works very well,
just make sure it doesn't get warm when you put a piece of it in the
microwave (with a cup of water). I'm not joking, if it does, then its
microwave reactive and might not be the best material. As for a tripod, I
have one from RadioShack. They're good, sturdy, and cheap. Anything you
get from a Ham store in NYC won't be.

If you still want a Ham store in the city, their's one that I've found.
Barry Electronics. It's between 6th and 7th street on 2nd ave in lower
Manhattan. They're a bit overpriced, but I try and give them the business
on everything I can just because they're local.

Subject: [nycwireless] Antenna mast in NYC

Anyone have any suggestions on a store to buy antenna masts, tripods, and
mounting gear? I figure there has to be a Ham supply store in the city
somewhere, does anyone know of a good one?
