The article says that it uses an off-the-shelf CF 802.11b card, along with
the Mobile IP standard so you can "roam" between hotspots without having
to reconnect to the Internet-connected "server".

Anyway, what you would describe would require that a CF card to do a lot
more than just be a 802.11b card.
