NYCwireless is currently involved in a project to assist Community Access
in building a wireless network in their Manhattan facility on ave D in the
E. village. This project is part of our effort to use our grass roots
organization to assist the underprivleged via technology.

We need a dedicated group of volunteers to assisted in building and
supporting the network. The first step in getting involved is attending a
4-5 hour training class we are tenatively planning to have on the evening
of Mon. the 14th. The class will cost $50 plus you must be a member ($20).
Besides going to the class you must be willing to:
1. Go on-site to the Ave. D facility to install equipment and pull cables.
2. Provide remote and on-site support for one year.

The class is going to be small so it's a first come first serve basis.
Please only signup if you serious about volunteering on this project and
on future NYCwireless projects. Please email [EMAIL PROTECTED] to get
signed up. If olivia already has your name please do not email her again.
You will receive a email notification letting you know if you have been
accepted to the class.

About CA:
"CA provides housing and support services (e.g., referrals to doctors and
job training etc.) for people with psychiatric disabilities (and some who
are just low-income). 400 or so apartments, mostly in Manhattan. Goal of
expanding to 1,500 units in 5 years. Mostly funded through various federal
and state programs, with about 10% of funding coming from individuals,
corporations, and foundations. Great record at helping people from very
dependent lives (in institutions, over-medicated, etc.) to independent
living / working / integration into community. Web site has more detail if
you want it -- www.CommunityAccess.net"
