A few things,

1) I am going to add a history mode similar to IRC. I'm not a fan of this interface, but there's clearly a need, and I don't have a better solution right now.

2) locationSERVER is still in need of a PHP script that will allow node owners to add their networks to the system. I'm working on this, but for now, if you email me the external IP address for your network, as well as a name, I will add it to the current database. If you can give me a dns name, this is even better since locationSERVER automatically updates IP addresses based on the DNS name of the network, so if you have a DHCP address, it will always be up to date in locationSERVER's database. If you don't have a DNS name for your network, I would suggest you set up a DDNS account.

If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. I am always interested in what the community has to say about my software, and I'd really like to add the features that people want.

Also, if you are having trouble getting the applet to work, please be sure you have a 1.3 or 1.4 Java VM installed. This should install automatically on Windows, but must be downloaded and installed manually on Linux (Mac OS X users already have all they need).

it might be cooler/better to chat/promote via the actual wireless chat app:

http://www.nycwireless.net/chat

the application is location-aware app via a location server (reverse DNS
lookup) so the idea is that if you own an AP and submit ur IP/WAN-NAT
address then people can see your node in turn w/ the people on ur AP.

@ the moment it seems the location server is not writeable (or @ least the
API does not list it), id like to create a DDNS proxy ... it would be cool
to see the app list you like:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (somewhere in brooklyn)
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
etc, etc, etc ...

then again im sure u can modify an irc server to do the same (and interact
w/ the java app) but it would be much cooler to experience it graphically
enhanced ...
