New America has done another great bit of work by creating the "Citizen's Guide To The Airwaves" http://www.newamerica.net/index.cfm?pg=article&pubID=1273.

It has never been clearer to me that the community has to take action to be heard on spectrum mgmt issues. The FCC and White house seem to be bent on giving ownership of spectrum to current license holders. This would be the single largest act of corporate welfare to ever take place in American history. Also shocking is the amount of spectrum held by the NTIA that is held without public accountability. I had no idea the NTIA kept all Federal allocations a secret. I am can only imagine how little of the held spectrum is actually used efficiently.

2 great quotes from the cover:
“They used to rob trains in the Old West. Now we rob spectrum.”
Senator John McCain,Chairman, Senate Commerce Committee

“The wireless spectrum belongs to the public, and thus should be made to serve the public.”
Senator Ernest Hollings, former Chairman,Senate Commerce Committee
