from techdirt: -snip- One of the issues people have in trying to set up multiple WiFi access points to cover a large area is how to handle the handoff from one access point to another in a way that the user isn't bothered. When you start talking about WiFi on the road, this problem becomes even more difficult, because you would be switching fairly rapidly among access points and traveling at a high rate of speed. It looks like the folks at NEC are trying to tackle this problem and have tested a system that handled WiFi handoffs in a car traveling 205 miles per hour. This was done (obviously) on a test track, with access points placed every 500 meters. One step closer to AutoWiFi. -snip-
