You don't want to lay it flat against the building. The building will
become part of the antenna and it is almost certainly not a good WiFi
antenna. The good news is that just 5 or 6 inches should be enough
distance from the building. Just make sure you're not trying to go
through fire-escapes, they gave me trouble connecting to a neighbor of
mine.

Maybe some wood can be painted the same brick color, if you build a
mount? If you just don't want the antennas to be seen from the ground
maybe you fasten a tripod to the top of your air-conditioners? Or paint
them the color of your AC and suspend them in air using transparent
fishing line?

PS Someone else was upset about a short antenna wire with his
commercial antenna yesterday.. This is a good thing, WiFi cards are
extremely low power. You are much better off building an outdoor
enclosure for your AP than trying to get a good signal through 5-10 ft
of LMR-400, with 3dB losses on each connection.
