Well, I beg to differ. Actually, 2 Wifi libraries (Dornell and
Mid-Manhattan) on the list are located in midtown (53rd b/t 5th and 6th
and 40th/5th, respectively), and SIBL on 34th and Lex's got a 10MBit wired
connection already. Of course, NYPL research on 42nd's got a full blown
nycwireless AP next door at Bryant park. Those 4 wired library represents
40% of the midtown libraries, not including the braille/talking book
library, which will probably not be a Wifi beneficiary anyways. I bet that
if I look at the branch maps and correlate it with a Wifi coverage map for
NYCWireless I would say that Wifi coverage for those midtown librarie will
be better than you might think.
