Hey guys. I recently ran into some problems working with a pair of Orinoco cards (One gold, one silver) with Netstumbler on a Thinkpad 240 running Win2K SP4. It seems that I have lost the ability to detect any type of APs, and that despite the fact that I have not update the firmware (6.16), NetStumbler, (0.3.30) or the drivers (WHQL v.7.6.4...actually, that's questionable, since Windows Update did want me to grab Build 315 of the 7.6.4 drivers instead of the WaveLAN IEEE driver that shipped clean with Win2K). I have the same cards in a Dell Latitude with Linux/Kismet installed, and both have no problems detecting my ad-hoc node. So I updated the drivers on the Thinkpad to 7.6.4 (build 316), reinstalled NetStumbler to the latest version, and flashed the firmware in the Orinoco gold to 8.7.2. Result? The Orinoco gold worked for ONE second in netstumbler, and then refuses to detect anymore. And after NetStumbler exits it refuses to re-init the Wifi connection.
Did anyone run into something similar in your experience? Any suggestions on solution to this problem? -- NYCwireless - http://www.nycwireless.net/ Un/Subscribe: http://lists.nycwireless.net/mailman/listinfo/nycwireless/ Archives: http://lists.nycwireless.net/pipermail/nycwireless/
