1. WEP is not running. Once I can get them the Linksys to function with the Orinoco I'll start doing some basic securing (mac filtering, wep, non-broadcast, etc).
2. The D-Link works in both machines, the Orinoco does not.
3. The Orinoco software suggests a strong link
4. The Orinoco does obtain an IP, and is able to communicate with the AP to some degree - out of a given 50 ping attempts, roughly 12 to 16 are sucessful, usually in groups, usually with 10 or so timeouts between blocks.
5. I believe that there's a second Linksys box in an apartment nearby. I tried using a different SSID but the problem seemed to persist, so I brought the AP back to factory defaults.
