Two years ago I tried pitching similar to Queens Central Branch (Merrick
Blvd., Jamaica), but never heard from them and didn't follow thru (was
spending most of the year OTR at the time). Maybe some other Queens
resident will have the tenacity to try them again. Note that the
surrounding area doesn't, ah, lend itself to sidewalk bistros or nice
accommodating parks and the like. Its right across the street from a
Nassau and Queens bus terminus. It would be really nice to have at
least wireless access to their catalogs when I find myself in the area.

Wireless access is available in the main branch of the Brooklyn Public Library in the "Reference"
& "Science/Industry, Social/Science" sections on the ground floor and 2nd floor respectively.
By the way, this is the only one of the BPL branches offering this service.
In addition, there is a small coffee shop at the corner of Sterling Place & Flatbush Avenue named "Prospect Perk" where there is also wireless access available.
Best regards
