I have used the Verizon 1XRT dialup service using a Sierra AirCard 555 for two years while traveling cross country. This is a great tool that allows me to have email and web access regardless of the client's internal security policies.
Depending on where you are in the country different service providers have more cost effective pricing. In Florida, it runs $100.00 per month with taxes included. Just like my AMEX card, I never leave home without it.
