I figured that someone had already done that. Too straight-foward an idea for someone not to have thought of already. We'll be using that idea (activist splash page) for a International Democratic Media Day at a local university (http://www.mediawrench.ca). We're just supplying the technology - they'll put up the content. They're calling it a guerilla wireless portal, or pirate wifi (pirate radio) or something. We will be doing ours centrally, not that that's necessarily better than the Bedoin projects disconnected local network.
