Not once is the word "free" used in that press release.

Why do I get the feeling that it is somehow related to the
spyware/adware/marketing industry?

"The Wi-Fi Salon maintains that the best way to hasten the evolution of
Wi-Fi is to develop sustainable business models for it. By designing Hot
Spots and Hot Zones that offer location specific content and services
rather than mere access, we believe we have developed the approach that
will work."

Stuff like "Location specific content" fits in with spyware company
marketing jargon such as "targeted product placement".

What exactly is "location specific content"? Does that mean along with
your wi-fi access, will you see popup ads for a local pizza place? 

Or am I way off here?
