yes it was announced about a year and a half ago. they required a $5000 (i think) deposit to bid, which pretty much ruled NYCwireless out from the get-go.

this is the Parks Dept, like every other NYC agency, trying to whore itself out to any willing buyer, to maximize revenue in a very tight fiscal environment.

i suppose the MTA will be next.
