Hello All,
Many interesting things about this ($100 VoIP handset, will
roaming agreement with Boingo allow VoIP?, free call to other Vonage
folks?, how will it handle captive portals, etc)...

P.S. Copy and paste credit goes to Nigel of PT for this. :-)

Vonage launches its first wireless VoIP handset
Vonage today launched its first wireless VoIP handset, the F-1000. The
new wireless VoIP phone is made by UTStarcom and works over most WiFi
networks, including public hotspots, allowing Vonage customers to use
their service on the go. While pricing details have yet to be announced,
most expect Vonage to sell the phone for roughly $100. Vonage plans to
ship the handset sometime between April and June this year, offering the
F-1000 to its 400,000 subscribers.
Late last year, Vonage inked a WiFi roaming trial with Boingo Wireless.
There is no word yet if the service provider's new wireless VoIP phone
will work through that roaming agreement. Many analysts and insiders
predict that the phone could be a big hit with college students,
especially since most US colleges and universities now have campus-wide
WiFi networks.
