[nycwireless] cell phone interception

Hi everyone.  I'm a grad student at Parsons looking to do a project  
that would involve intercepting cell phone conversations and was  
hoping some one who had experience doing it could point me in the  
right direction.  I would need it to have a range of only 20ft or so,  
and would need to be able to record the conversations directly with  
custom built software.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
