Are these long barrel connectors on the wap11 strickly needed, do they
serve any purpose over the smaller connectors found on the laptop PCMCIA
version of this card. Im modifying this one on go on my rooftop for
surface DXing.

(yes its a pcmcia card on a back plane, most of the familiar blue and
grey box is groundplane (not shown), so its not stricly speaking a waste
of space. Dont go removing yours from your enclosures, unles you know how
your groundplane works ;) )
