This is exactly the type of discrimination that will surely happen if
we don't ensure network neutrality. The internet isn't susceptible
(at least not generally) to content being regulated by the ISP. With
the "two-tiered" network that the telcos are pushing, they will be
more than able and willing to entertain content access controls and
blocking (or slowing down) opinions they don't like.
If telcos want to turn the internet into a cable tv like system, then
this type of content discrimination what we will have in the future.

Corporate Decisions Attempt to Stifle Free Speech in Cable TV Debate
TRENTON, N.J., March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Despite running virtually
nonstop
TV commercials attacking Verizon's efforts to speed choice and
competition in
New Jersey's cable TV market, two of the nation's largest cable
companies are
refusing to run a paid TV commercial from Verizon that asks
consumers to
support video choice. A third cable company did not respond to
Verizon's
request.
In separate responses, managers and account executives at Comcast
and Time
Warner said they are unwilling to accept the paid TV commercial
sent by
Verizon. Account representatives at Cablevision did not respond to
Verizon's
e-mails seeking placement.
