This is about Asterisk [http://Asterisk.org/ ], the open-source PBX system. What I like about this article is how it shows how open-source enables more business than closed-source. The author lists money-making applications that the system has made possible. Of course, from a wireless mobility standpoint, this one caught my eye: ^"Electric utility Southern Co. is using Asterisk in a pilot program to translate voicemail into text messages for 30 managers' BlackBerrys."^ Rob -- NYCwireless - http://www.nycwireless.net/ Un/Subscribe: http://lists.nycwireless.net/mailman/listinfo/nycwireless/ Archives: http://lists.nycwireless.net/pipermail/nycwireless/
