43things.com lets you create things you want to do but unlike a simple  
task list, it lets others say they want to do it too.

HOTSPOT IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
I want to set up a new hotspot right in my neighborhood. And I’m  
putting out a call to others to do the same in their nabe, with  
NYCwireless’s support. We’ve helped volunteers install these on their  
own and we’re pretty good at support. The map of SuperNodes is at

NYCWIRELESS SUPERNODE
NYCwireless offers “SuperNodes”—modified Linksys WRT54G which provide  
realtime monitoring and customizable splash pages. NYCw has helped  
volunteers install these on their own and has gotten pretty good at  
support.

WANT TO DO THIS?
It means identifying the place, educating and persuading the owner to  
offer free wireless and pony up the money for the linksys and the DSL  
(and preferably a nice donation to NYCw). There’s more More info at
