Stompboxes are what I'm familiar with. It's an open-source
distribution that takes an EVDO card:

There's also the overpriced Junxion box:

For data, I sense it's a weighing of both speed (3g or near 3g) and
cost. Sprint used to have a very nice data plan price (wrapped up
into the regular monthly cell price) but no longer.
The whole thing sounds risky though. Multiple wireless cameras
streaming in, then an EVDO connection going out? Sounds like the
chances of it bogging down are pretty high. I'd be interested in
hearing the specs.

Quoting Billy Bob <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
Does anyone here have any experience or looked into wireless mobile hotspot
hardware? I need to put together a wireless mobile hotspot for broadcasting
remote video from multiple IP based wireless cameras. Kyocera has one from
around $300, are there any more of them and at what cost? I have Sprint PCS
as my cellular carrier, is there a better choice for data?
Thanks,
Bruce Ehlers
