After spending the morning at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, we stopped
at WE2 in the early afternoon. There were a good number of shorebirds
on the south (ocean-side) section of the temporary pond that lies just
south of the WE2 pavilion. Present was a Golden Plover and two fly-
over Royal Terns. Earlier this morning Matt Bayer observed two Buff-
breasted Sandpipers and a Baird's Sandpiper on the south side of the
pond. You can walk up the east side of the pond to the ocean and keep
your feet dry (which could change with the anticipated rainfall on
Friday and T.S. Danny this weekend).
