Yesterday evening I found 2 immature BALD EAGLES along the west side of the northern end of Long Pond. This morning the two young were still present and they were joined by an adult BALD EAGLE and a murder of Crows. The best place to view these birds is probably from the northwest corner, but the pond has relatively few vantage points of the north end. Access is best had from Mashasimuet Park or from the end of Round POnd Lane. (Look at Google maps for trails.) In either case it is a 10-15 minute walk to the pond. A walk along the trail down the west side of the pond would likely flush the eagles.
