There are now 2 Tundra Swans on the Pittsburg Avenue Pond at Massapequa Preserve as of 12:30 PM Christmas Day. Several Mutes were around providing a nice all around comparison, and showing how easily this species can be overlooked. Massapequa Lake was mostly frozen on the south side, but up to 10 Common Merganser were feeding and getting harassed by Gulls in an unfrozen section to the north. Bobby Berlingeri
