While driving on Rt 18 in the Town of Wilson (Niagara County) this
afternoon, I saw a white "thing" along the shore of Twelve Mile Creek, which
is the western boundary of Wilson-Tuscarora S.P. As I drove closer, I
imagined that it could be an egret but I could not be sure. I pulled over
just east of the big truss bridge at Roosevelt Beach, then walked back to
the bridge. The bird was on the north side of the bridge and it was a SNOWY
EGRET! The bird was only 60 yards away and it flushed, then flying to a
large tree about 100 yards away on the same side of the creek, where I was
able to get a decent look at it in binoculars in the rain. I left it there
around 4:00.

Good birding!
Willie
