As for terns at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge (in Queens County,
N.Y. City) there was a Caspian Tern reported by Rafael Campos of
Brooklyn (and Costa Rica) - who also mentioned that an American White
Pelican continued, & very notably a Red-necked as well as two Wilson's
Phalaropes, all the birds being found at the East Pond in the Refuge.
With Black Tern regular lately and at least 4 more regularly-seen
terns also possible there (Forster's, Least, Common, Gull-billed) a "6-
tern day" at the bay is within the realm. At this time a great
variety of shorebird species is also a possibility and there are
certain to be many more new arrivals coming in with changes to the
make-up of the birds possible on about each weather change and even
more often than that. A daily "update" would be both reasonable and
helpful, as there are many out-of-town and even out-of-country birders
visiting the Refuge in the next several weeks. Also helpful to many
are updates on the conditions to be found walking at the east pond,
and not unreasonable to mention what times & tides one visiits on.

Rafeal Campos' report appeared in the eBirdsNYC list-serve:

maybe a J. Bay Chat will be reported via some Hungarian birding blog-
that's one way to update on our local migrants!

(& Wednesday)

There are about a dozen or more (twelve-plus) warbler species & many
other migrants moving through NYC this W'day.
Updates on a few of these (at least in Manhattan) later. Common
Nighthawks are staging - in numbers - at points north.
Baird's Sandpipers are more widely reported including of an adult
W.'day at the Connecticut side of Long Island Sound.
not far from where that Connecticut White-tailed Kite continued to be
seen as of this Wednesday morning: Stratford, CT.
btw, 2 Scissor-tailed Flycatchers have been seen just outside NY state
(1 lingers on in Ontario Canada, 1 was in Mass.)
NO update in the MaineBirds list so far on an interesting plover with
a few characters that had caused some excitement.
