Echoing Will Raup's call for patience;

I'd underdressed, and by 1115 was uncomfortable, so I resolved to drive off for a while and return later. I chose to exit via the launching ramp complex. I turned into it, and there was the Dove! I stopped my van on the shoulder, and stepped back to the main road to try to hail any birders I could see, but there were only two, having lunch. The lady came to look, sandwich in hand, and got a fleeting glimpse of the Dove as it left toward the green buoy area. The look I got at it was only a little better, but was very satisfying.
