This morning the ocean in East Hampton held several *Red-Throated Loons*.
 On Hook Pond were *Hooded Mergansers*, 1 *Belted Kingfishe*r and on dry
land nearby was a *Ring-necked Pheasant*.  *Ruddy Ducks* were spotted off of
Cobb Isle Rd. in Water Mill and S*urf Scoters* were in small numbers at the
end of Ocean Rd. in Bridgehampton.  At the Shinnecock Inlet a *Merlin* with
prey flew over the jetty and settled down on a fence post on the East Side
to eat breakfast as a hundred or so *Common Eider* swam in the waters just
west of the inlet.  A very tardy *Great Egret* was spotted in Dune Rd.
amongst some* Black Ducks* and 8 *Guinea Hens* were spotted at a vacant
house on Red Creek Rd. just East of Squiretown Park.  Photos can be seen
