Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------

     12/29: A late MARSH WREN was found near the observation tower just past 
the 
Visitor’s Center.


Jefferson County
------------

      1/1: The TOWNSEND’S SPLITAIRE was found at it’s usual spot on Point 
Peninsula On State Park Road just off of Co.Rt. 57. There were no reports for 
the 2nd. or 3rd. so far. Also seen in the area were NORTHERN GOSHAWK, NORTHERN 
SHRIKE (6), and BARROW’S GOLDENEYE (2). 



Onondaga County
------------

     12/28: A YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was refound on Connors Road just west of 
Rt. 
31 in the Town of Van Buren. Today (1/3) two individuals were found in the same 
spot. Another is coming to a feeder in Liverpool.
     12/31: 6 BALD EAGLES were observed on Cross Lake from Farnham Road on the 
east side of the lake.
     1/03: A FISH CROW was heard at the inner harbor (Syracuse) and a NORTHERN 
SHRIKE was seen at the fisherman’s access near the State Fair on Onondaga Lake.


Madison County
------------

     !2/29: Highlights of the New Woodstock Christmas Count were EVENING 
GROSBEAKS (125) in three different locations, COMMON REDPOLLS (very numerous), 
3 
LAPLAND LONGSPURS, NORTHERN SHRIKES, and a NORTHERN GOSHAWK.


Oswego County
------------

     1/01: An adult RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was seen on Lakeview Road on Lake 
Ontario at the Bible Camp.
     1/02: A SNOW OWL continues to be seen on the breakwalls at Oswego. 5 
BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were seen on City Line Road south of Rt. 104 in Oswego.


Oneida County
------------

     1/01: A MERLIN was seen on Randall Road in the Town of Verona during the 
Oneida Christmas Count.


Extralimital
----------

     The last positive sighting of the KING EIDER at Stewart Park in Ithaca was 
12/29.
