Hello All, A slow haul west from inlet to inlet produced 2 Great
Cormorants and the 3 Purple Sandpipers at Shinnecock jetties, 6 Northern
Harriers including 1 "Grey Ghost" and an American Bittern along the way to
Cupsogue beach, 120+ Dunlin, 20 BB Plover and a single Ruddy Turnstone at
Cupsogue marsh, and 14 Horned Grebes and untold numbers of Common Eider at
Moriches Inlet proper. Harbor Seals,[ a single Grey Seal], were out in
force around both inlets .We had 32 on the exposed bar between Cupsogue and
M. Inlet. Eileen Schwinn related she'd had the second bittern and a Clapper
Rail in the vicinity of pole 403. Good Birding after the Storm,
Carl Starace
