While taking a school group to observe seals at Cupsogue Beach County Park (Westhampton Beach) I observed 2 ospreys at the platform near the western end of the parking lot; and two American Oyster Catchers were seen on the rocks at the base of the cliff near the seal haulout.
125 seals were sighted as well. If you go there to see the Oyster Catchers and/or seals, please try to stay up on the cliff and not down near the water, to avoid disturbing the seals. Artie Arthur H.
