Yesterday, in dire weather conditions I did some coastal birding
specifically in Queens County. Of note, were Surf and Black Scoters right
off the fisherman's parking lot at Fort Tilden. A surprise was at least 2
Common Eiders, west of the parking lot, which I tried unsuccessfully to
digiscope, but kept losing them in the choppy waves. Streams of Gannets,
but no WISP or Shearwaters.
