Susan Rogers and I went to Ames, Montgomery Co. to see Upland Sandpipers. We found 3 on the north side of West Ames Rd. (on the western end of the road) Then we continued south on MacPhail Rd. At mail box 221 we stopped to listen for Grasshopper Sparrows, when we heard the wonderful-pitiful song of a Henslow's Sparrow! It was on the west side of the road. It sat up for wonderful views. It's a particularly scenic place.
