On this morning's 10/12 NYC Audubon Bryant Park bird walk, we had a nice
assortment of late autumn migrants, the highlight of which were four species of
thrush feeding in close proximity... it was like a field guide page!
First we encountered a Gray-cheeked Thrush in the NW corner of the park
(feeding alongside several Ovenbirds, White-throated Sparrows, and a Swamp
Sparrow).  Then in the South hedgerow amid the construction noise and business,
we had a Wood Thrush (eating a piece of bagel with melted cheese!) and shortly
after found a Swainson's Thrush and a Hermit Thrush eating holly berries.  At
one point these three thrushes were all sitting alongside one another in the
hedges.
There were also numerous Gray Catbirds, Common Yellowthroats, and a
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.
Good Birding,
Gabriel WillowNYC Audubon
