It was as if I was seeing double today. First, not one but two *GREATER
WHITE-FRONTED GEESE* in the Canada flock on Further Lane in Amagansett
(Suffolk Co.). Both adults, both orange-billed. Also present on the south
field at Deep Hollow, Montauk was the third adult GW-FG ('Pinkie'), present
since 8 Oct. Later it was not one but two *BROWN PELICANS* at Montauk
Inlet. Both immatures, fishing together by plunge diving in the bay between
the inlet and Shagwong Point then seen again to the west in the outer
portion of Fort Pond Bay.

Good numbers of Forster's Terns still continue in the Montauk area (92+)
with a few lingering Common Terns (7) sprinkled. Also of note were a
*RED-NECKED
GREBE* on Fort Pond Bay and a 1st-winter *RAZORBILL* moving back and forth
with the tide in front of the restaurant at Montauk Point.

Passerines, especially migrants, was notable in their absence at every spot
I checked. The stiff SW-W breeze did not help and grew steadily during the
day.
