This afternoon in the rain, there was a juvenile Glaucous Gull on the water
just offshore a couple of hundred yards east of the Fisherman's Parking Lot at
Fort Tilden.
Various wet fields around southern Brooklyn (especially the Marine Park Golf
Course, and the Marine Park Ballfields) hosted over a combined 1,000
Ring-billed Gulls this afternoon.

Yesterday, the Blue-gray Gnatcatcher continued at Coney Island Creek Park in
Brooklyn, and several hundred Bonaparte's Gulls were offshore there, including
several dozen foraging around the surf.

On Sunday, Heydi Lopes and I covered the Montauk area (mostly east of Lake
Montauk) for the Inaugural Suffolk County Rarity Roundup and found a few
interesting highlights, though no blistering rarities (had nearly blistering
sun though!):
1 Dickcissel at a feeder in the front yard of a house along Ditch Plains Road
with over 40 House Sparrows coming to it.
1 Common Yellowthroat at Camp Hero State Park, right at the gate to the Radar
Tower.
47 Razorbills between Montauk Point and the Camp Hero Overlook.
1 adult "Kumlien's" Iceland Gull flying around between the north end of Star
Island the Montuak Lake inlet
1 Common Tern at Fort Pond Bay
1 Forster's Tern at Fort Pond Bay
1 flyby adult Lesser Black-backed Gull at Fort Pond Bay
2-3 Red-necked Grebes at For Pond Bay
1 female Common Merganser at Lazy Point in Napeague

The pink-billed Greater White-fronted Goose also continued in the south field
at Deep Hollow Ranch.
