Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------

     10/31: A RED PHALAROPE was found at Knox-Marsellus Marsh. 3 CATTLE EGRETS 
were found at Goose Haven on Rt.89. They have continued through 11/4. 
     11/1: 5 ROSS’S GEESE and 2 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS were seen at 
Knox-Marsellus Marsh.
     11/3: The ROSS’S GEESE and WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS were relocated in 
Knox-Marsellus Marsh along with SANDHILL CRANED and 9 TUNDRA SWANS.
     11/5: 8 SANDHILL CRANES and a PEREGRINE FALCON were seen along the 
Wildlife Trail.


Onondaga County
------------

     10/29: All 3 SCOTER species were seen on Onondaga Lake from the marina in 
Liverpool. SURF and WHITE-WINGED continued to be seen till the weekend but have 
not been reported recently.
     11/4: 2 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were seen on Thompson Road on the south side of 
Hancock Airport.
     11/5: A FORSTER’S TERN has again been found at the marina on Onondaga Lake 
in Liverpool. The male RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD at Pendergast Road in Phoenix is 
still present. It has been coming to a feeder for 7 weeks! 


Oswego County
------------

     10/29: A NORTHERN GOSHAWK, WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS and EVENING GROSBEAKS 
were all seen at Derby Hill.
     10/31: A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen at Sunset Bay Park.
     11/2: A LITTLE GULL and a BLACK-LEGGED KITTYWAKE were seen at Derby Hill.
     11/3: A BLACK-LEGGED KITTYWAKE was again seen at Derby Hill. EVENING 
GROSBEAKS were seen at 88 Kibby Road and in  Williamstown.
     11/4: 9 EVENING GROSBEAKS and a late VESPER SPARROW were seen on North 
Church Road in Boylston.6 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were seen on Atkinson Road and 
another was seen on South Daysville Road.


Madison County
------------

     11/3: A HARRIS’S SPARROW was found at a feeder on Clark Street in 
Lakeport. It was seen again on 11/4 and 11/5. Directions to the feeder can be 
found on Oneidabirds or can email me personally (brinjos...@yahoo.com). The 
homeowners ask that you observe from the road and not their driveway.


Oneida County
------------

     11/1: A RED PHALAROPE was seen at Sylvan Beach. 


Jefferson County
------------

     10/31: A BLACK VULTURE was seen soaring at Henderson Harbor.
     A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen at Stony Point. 2 SANDHILL CRANES were seen at the 
intersection of Rts. 3 and 193 near Wescott Beach.
     11/4; 2 BLACK-LEGGED KITTYWAKES were seen from Montario Point. 25 BOHEMIAN 
WAXWINGS were seen at Wescott Beach and 2 more were seen at El Dorado.   


Extralimital
------------

     Most of the more exotic birds driven to our area by Hurricane Sandy were 
reported just outside the normal range of this report but deserve to be listed 
in this report. These species, with the exception of the NORTHERN GANNET, were 
seen from the east side of  Cayuga Lake in Tomkins and Cayuga County. 
      10/30: An adult ROSS’S GULL (that’s right, gull and not goose) and a 
PARASITIC JAEGER were seen from Long Point Park. A LEACH’S STORM PETRAL was 
seen from Myer’s Point. 
     10/31: A LAUGHING GULL  and a CAVE SWALLOW were seen at Myers Point. 
Another LAUGHING GULL, a BLACK-LEGGED KITTYWAKE and a  PURPLE SANDPIPER were 
seen at Long Point State Park. A NORTHERN GANNET was seen flying south over 
Owasco Lake.
