Hi, Yesterday, I visited the Southern end of Pelham Bay Park where I was pleasantly surprised by a flock of 7 Common Redpolls. The flock was aloft most of the time and seemed to be roaming a wide area. The 7 disappeared and resurfaced a few times throughout my walk. Later on, I stumbled across an 8th Redpoll foraging busily in a patch of mugwort. Unfortunately, this bird looked a little under the weather as it only flushed a few feet when I initially found it (almost walked into it!), twice was seen briefly huddling in the roots of an upturned shrub and seemed to be "panting" a bit.
